A Merseyside Academy has continued its reputation for being outstanding through an innovative solution to gaining more space for pupils!
Upton Hall School, Wirral was struggling to accommodate its growing student numbers, especially at lunchtime. Its solution was to use expertise from CRS and Aztec Conservatory Roof Systems to cost-effectively turn under-used outside space into a practical dining area for 120 pupils.
CRS’ solution was to engineer a 12m x 5m double Edwardian conservatory-style roof, from Aztec Conservatory Roof Systems’ portfolio, to enclose the area and create a weathertight, dry, light and airy environment that still compliments the school building architecture.

To build a dining room using traditional brick and block methods would have cost the school significantly more than using a conservatory, and still would not have delivered the bright and cheerful ambience achieved by its alternative approach.
